Lantern Making & Colouring Contest, Cultural Performance and Lantern Parade at AEON Mall Station 18 on 5th Oct 2025

The public and shoppers of AEON Mall Station 18 will have another great opportunity to experience the Lantern Festival, a Traditional Chinese Cultural display in conjunction with Mid-autumn festival this year. Free lanterns and goodies will be given out to the first 500 particiants of the parade which starts at 6.30pm. 


Lions Club of Perak Silver State and Loyal Academy will team up once again with AEON Mall Station 18 to jointly organize the Lantern Making and Colouring Contest 2025 in conjunction with Mid-autumn Festival. This was highlighted during a Press Conference held on 26 Sept 2025 at the AEON Mall Statio 18.

More than RM5,000 worth of prizes and lanterns are up for grab. Thanks to Loyal Academy and our other sponsors.

The contest is open to all races offering cash prize of RM1,000, RM300 and RM200 for Champion, first Runner-up and second Runner-up respectively. There will also be 10 consolation prizes of RM100 each. All lanterns participating in the contest must be submitted to AEON Mall Station 18 on 4th Oct from 3pm to 10pm or 5th Oct from 10am to 2pm. Independ judging of the contest will commence after that.

There is also a Colouring Contest open to Children between 5 to 10 years of all races. Contest will start at 2.30pm to 3.30pm. The Champion, first Runner-up and second Runner-up will receive cash prize of RM200, RM150 and RM100 respectively. 10 consolation prizes of RM50 each.

All participants will receive a Certficate of Participation.



According to Organising Chairman, Lion Wong Kean Rong, the prize presentation will be held at 5.00pm at the ground floor of AEON Mall Station 18. In between contest, there will be cultural and dance performances.


Region 5 Chairperson, Lion Dr. Richard Ng thanked Loyal Academy and AEON Mall Station for this great event aimed to showcase Chinese Traditional Culture. He noted that this event is open to all races and as such he hoped that this year more Malays and Indians will participate in the contest as well as the Lantern Parade in order to foster a close relationship and understanding. The colouring contest will enable the students to express their creativity and talents. 

At 6.30pm the public of all races have the opportunity to take part in the lantern parade where 500 lanterns will be given out free. Participants will also receive goodies from AEON Mall Station 18. The lantern parade will be accompanied by Lion dance within the compound of the mall.
