MOTORISTS are now banned from parking their vehicles along Jalan Datuk Tahwil Azar, when the Gerbang Malam market is operational.
Ipoh City Council corporate affairs principal assistant director Normala Latiff said the new ruling has been enforced, disallowing motorists from parking their vehicles at the parking bays along the road from 6pm to 2am.
“The city council urged the people not to park in the area to avoid any confusion.
“We have received reports of some misunderstandings that have occurred between traders at the market and vehicle owners that resulted in arguments,” she said in a press statement.
“The argument has also caused the trading activities in the area to be disrupted,” she said.
Normala said the council would not be responsible should any motorist choose to go against the ruling and park their vehicles there.
“We will not be held responsible if any arguments or fights break out over vehicles parked there. The council will also issue compounds to those who continue to park there,” she said.
