The Ipoh City Watch (ICW) Association (Persatuan Prihatin Bandaraya Ipoh) was formally registered by the Registrar of Societies on November 29, 2002. The registration number is PPP/PK 92/02. The objectives of the setting up of ICW are spelled out in its Vision and Mission statements.
Its Vision Statement is as follows:
To establish a group of concerned residents of Ipoh to act collectively and responsibly in propagating/advocating the quality of living and value for money activities to be enjoyed by all residents
Its Mission Statement is as follows:
* To preserve a family oriented and economically vibrant community that thrives on citizen involvement, respect our natural environment and enhance our quality of life
* To establish a concerted platform with a strong and collective voice for all Ipoh folks as an intermediary to assist the local authority to promote community development, sustainable growth, prosperity and enhanced quality of life for for all Ipoh residents
* To support the state government in their stated aims of making the local council an accountable, transparent and efficient administration by working together with the objective of making Ipoh a clean and caring society.
